Message from the Acting Chairman — 14 September 2026

An Executive Committee meeting was held on Friday, 11 September, to review the launch of our new website, scheduled for 1 October.

The new website

Charlie Fisher of Aztec Media, the company designing our website, joined the committee to provide the Board with a comprehensive review of the new site. The Board proposed several amendments but was very pleased overall and received confirmation that the site would be fully operational by 1 October.

Training manuals

The Board discussed the launch of the new training manuals and agreed that, before coach training can resume effectively, we need to establish a sufficient pool of trainers and assessors who are familiar with the National Coaching Programme. The Board therefore decided to delay the release of the Level 1 and Level 2 manuals until enough trainers and assessors are in place.

To support this process, we will issue relevant manuals, PowerPoints, videos (subject to completion) and guides to trainers as trainers register. We see this as a short-term measure. Bowlers will still be able to register for training from 1 October, and trainers will be allocated as soon as they become available.

Trainers, assessors and Area Coaches

To simplify registration for trainers and assessors, Level 2 and Level 3 members will be able to indicate their interest by ticking a box during registration, removing the need to complete separate forms. The same process will be used for Area Coach applications.

The new uniform

The Board reviewed the new uniform and agreed to place an initial order of 100 tops. Upon registration, the first 500 members will be able to purchase one top for £20, including postage. This offer is valid until 1 January 2027, after which tops will cost £28, including postage.

Please refer to the previously issued information for further details. For a comfortable fit, we recommend ordering two sizes larger than your usual UK top size.

Director of Finance

The Board is pleased to announce that Adrian Bell, who previously stepped down as Director of Finance for personal reasons, has rejoined the Board in his former position.

Looking ahead

Looking ahead, the Board is looking to hold an AGM in March/April and is researching the best ways to get maximum attendance.

These are exciting times for EBCS. With your continued support, commitment and enthusiasm, we can build on this progress and strengthen the quality of coaching we provide. Together, we have the opportunity to shape a confident and successful future for EBCS and everyone it serves.
