The EBCS have sadly been informed that 2 older members who served their county and area for many years have passed away following illness

Tony Grant was for many years Hampshire County Coach and then Southern Region Coach, and held the advanced certificate - as well as being an International Umpire.    Those members of long standing in the old southern region will remember his character fairness and firmness to preserve standards and fair ply. Sadly a car accident some 3 years ago meant that he mobility was affected and he passed away on 4 September at Portsmouth QA Hospital.

Derek Nickerson was the former county coach for Norfolk and resigned the position due to ill health.  He was, however a firm supporter of the Norfolk County Bowls Coaching Association until the end, and was a firm believer in helping everyone who played bowls to reach their full potential. Sadly he passed away on 5 September at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

The condolences of the EBCS Board and all our coaching colleagues to out to both these kind gents and their families at this time.
